Pepe Romero Custom B6 Baritone Guilele German Moon Spruce & Spanish Cypress "Lil' Pepe" #339 - TUNED F#-B-E-A-C#-F#

Stop and look no further. If your a guitar or ukulele or guitarlele player you have found by far the greatest baritone guitarlele (or guilele or guitalele or gitalele) that has ever been made in the history of the universe.

What is a Baritone Guilele?

  • Body size of a baritone ukulele
  • 29-1/2 Inches - Total Length (from top of headstock to butt)
  • 19-1/8 Inch Scale Length
  • 1-17/18 Inch Nut Width
  • 6 Strings
  • TUNED F#-B-E-A-C#-F# (Tuned up whole step from standard guitar).
  • TOP - Solid German Moon Spruce
  • BACK & SIDES - Solid Spanish Cypress

This is #339 which means it is the #339 instrument that Pepe Romero Jr has ever handmade. Please understand that Pepe Romero Jr is one of the best luthiers of guitars, guileles, and ukulele that is alive today.

Pepe took the musical genius that is inherent in his family, the Romero's, and instead of focusing on being a world case concert musician like his dad, Pepe Romero Sr., he decided to focus on building instruments.

Besides being my friend and one of the kindest persons you will ever meet, Pepe is fully committed and dedicated to the art of building the best instruments.

Everything on the B6 Baritone Guilele is handmade by Pepe Romero Jr himself. There are no CNC machines, no outsourcing of work, it is 100% hand made from the best wood on the planet.

Even the neck is hand carved from a solid piece of Mahogany to get it down to the finely tuned masterpiece that it is. Easy to play, smooth, slim, and super comfortable when playing chords or fingerpicking.

Now the wood...

The top is made from solid German Moon Spruce. There is a story of how Moon Spruce is cut. I may not have got the facts 100% correct in the video but Moon Spruce is harvested at a specific time during the moon cycle when the sap is the lowest to ensure clean wood that sounds bold and powerful.

The back and sides is solid Spanish Cypress. Cypress is not common wood used in many ukuleles but I can tell you that the combination of the Spanish Cypress and the German Moon Spruce produce the best sound I have ever heard on an instrument before.

The final touch on all of Pepe's handmade instruments is the French Polish that is applied to the wood. The French Polish is a old traditional way of applying the shellac to the instrument to produce the finest finish you will ever see. It's a time consuming process that takes weeks to do as each thin layer of finish is applied one at a time until you have built up at least 30 layers.

The benefits of the French Polish over traditional spray on finishes is it allows the wood to breath producing the most fantastic overtones and brilliance you will hear from an instrument.

The French Polish is a labor of love because of the time, effort and skill required to put it on. Most builders don't do it because it is not cost effective, which is yet another example of the care and dedication Pepe Romero Jr has to making instruments the right way.

All instruments have a five-day approval period. If you would like to return an instrument you must contact us within five days of receiving it, and must ship it back to Uke Like The Pros within seven days. *See below for Instruments damaged during shipping.

If the instrument is damaged, defective, or blemished* when you receive it, please let us know immediately and we will file a claim and help arrange return shipping. Upon receiving the instrument and confirming the damage or defect we will repair it, replace it, or issue a refund.

If an instrument or product is damaged during shipping, we will need to file a claim with our insurance company. Please keep the original box, packing material, and instrument, as photos will be needed to file a claim. We ask you to hold on to the damaged instrument or product until the insurance claim is settled. If the damaged instrument or product is shipped back to us before the claim is settled it will void the insurance claim. Don’t worry our team will guide you through this entire process.

If returning an instrument that is NOT damaged, defective, or blemished*, the customer is responsible for the full cost of the original shipping, return shipping, insurance, and a 15% restocking fee**. Any custom work, such as setups, strap buttons, or pickup installations are non-refundable.

When shipping an instrument back to Uke Like The Pros, the customer is responsible for repacking the instrument. The instrument must be returned in the condition and packaging it arrived in including packaging materials and tags. (For information on how to pack instruments, see here) For domestic orders, we will arrange a return shipping label to be emailed to you. For international orders the customer must obtain their own label.

We can exchange or refund your purchase as soon as we receive and inspect the instrument.

    * For instruments a blemish must be visible to the naked eye from at least 24 inches away or roughly an arms length in distance.

Instruments are handmade and wood comes from nature, neither one is perfect. We inspect and play each instrument before shipment, but every instrument, no matter the price will have variations in the wood grain and if inspected close enough will have some small imperfections.

Instruments under $500 will have some visible imperfections in the finish and wood. These imperfections are normal and does not mean the instrument is "B" stock, blemished, flawed, eligible for a discount, or free return. We want you to love your instrument and we hope you can enjoy playing it and sharing your music on your new instrument. Please email any concerns to support@ukelikethepros.com.

**Restocking fee is based on the full, non-discounted price of the instrument excluding add-ons or custom work (strap buttons, pickup installs, setups, tuner upgrade, etc.).

We work hard to ensure nothing goes wrong with your order, but being human sometimes mistakes happen. We do our best to respond to these issues as quickly as we can, so the faster you let us know the faster we can help you which is why we are available for you via phone (858)-256-0570 and email: support@ukelikethepros.com
